On World Fragrance Day

Here is my top recent favourites after rejoining the dark side post the escape four six years ago. My last update on this topic was 6 years ago. 

Elie Saab- very unique, floral with accents of green, almost like a betel leaf, first perfume from this designer. Mark my words, this one is a winner

Narcisso Rodridges For her...very chic, flowery, powdery.

Be Delicious for women- crisp, fresh apple, floral, very diffusive. 

Body Burberry- sweet, floral, vanillic, Powdery, musky.

Issey Miyake- very fresh, lily, marine, sharp. I have developed a taste for very marine, sea breeze fragrances, an extension of my liking for lily  (or muguet as we call it in our industry) fragrances. 

Kouros for men- evocative of leather, tobacco, woods...I would gladly wear it myself. 

Politeness

Ojas- I don't want to go to school tomorrow.

Tejas advices- ask her properly without crying and she may give you leave.

New Words in the Vocab

Ojas- Mamma, S is Tejas' fan

Tejas- I dont have autograph

Me- What is autograph?

Tejas- what we scribble. my handwriting is very bad. how will I give autograph?

Overheard Ojas remarking on a ghost story- that is bull shit.

The school carnival

Proved to be quite nice in fact. I was quite loathe to sacrifice a weekend chasing the kids all over their school but surprisingly they were well behaved.

The stalls were quite good too and if my weight and figure were standard size, I could have indulged myself.
The horse cantering was the best part I believe. They also got a few prizes here and there at the counters.

Bill checking

Do you ever check your bills after paying for your veggies/ grocery?

I make it a point to run my eyes through it and pay attention to atleast the bigger numbers.

Not that I suspect them to cheat but sometimes there could be mistakes.

Like a discount promised may not have been deducted. 

Or perhaps something else got billed from their checklist of codes.

Yesterday I got billed Rs 300 for bread. I almost did not check my bill yesterday and was walking off without taking it. 

Just out of habit I ran my eyes over it and the 300 figure jumped out at me. I wondered if Ojas had slipped something in. 

The shop guy realised that the bread had a wrong sticker on it!!

Chinese

Me- you will become Chinese if you keep eating noodles and pasta.


Tejas- mamma, noodles is Chinese, pasta is Italian.
