Life is Unfair

When you are old enough to be able to eat whatever you want to, then you no longer can eat them nor should you be eating them.
Weight management, calorie consciousness, fat free, low sugar.....
And not only that, there are the moral police...
Picture this-

Ojas/ Tejas are about to unwrap their chocolates and Dadda is about to drink from his juice bottle right at dinner time.
Mamma- No body eats anything until they have had dinner- even you Dadda!

Dadda is about to take a swig from a juice bottle in the fridge
Ojas/ Tejas- Dadda, you drinking baby juice? Shall I drink from your juice bottle? (the sugarfree/ sports drink types?)
Dadda sheepishly puts the juice bottle away.

One gets so swamped with deadlines after one is back from a long holiday that it is very tempting to take another holiday just to escape them deadlines...

Pearls of Wisdom-Lessons for October

1. Diamond with Silver- means cashew sweet or any milk sweet in diamond shape with silver foil!
2. Sun -poo- Kid speak for Sunflower in English plus Tamil (not my kids!)

3. MIL- S has put Internet in his house naa?
Me- ???non commital huh (what's the big deal? I thought he already had it)
MIL- current goes off for an hour plus in the afternoon and his house is very hot that's why
Me- Light bulb moment- You mean inverter. Ha ha. Internet is for computer
MIL-You mean internet is for computer and Inverter is for the whole house
Me- Well, sort off!

4. Bombing the City- A new game made up by kids where in the kids group as the four metros and the chosen city is supposed to be bombed (how- I couldn't find out)

Girl- aunty, who is your favourite hero.
Me- I have only 1 favourite hero- and that is my husband
Everyone- oh, wow... how nice... appreciate appreciate
Hubby- fooooooo....puffing up with pride
Me- My standards are pretty low that way.
Hubby- Phooooooooooot... deflated

The trouble with having a large extended family is that you hardly get to be the first one to share your news with others. It is always someone else who does it for you.

The trouble with having your blog is that while you are the first one to announce your news, you can hardly talk to your friends and relatives because anything you say will be met with "yaa, I already know that, I read it in your blog"

Another trouble with having a blog is that since people are up to date with all your news, they hardly call you up. Moreover, it is always a one-way communication with no news from the other side coming your way.

The trouble with known people reading your blog is that you cannot bull shit without getting caught or do a healthy debate on "sensitive subjects".

And the trouble with kids growing up and reading your blog is that they know for sure that you love them to bits inspite of their mischief that make you superficially tear your hair out, because you then promptly go to your keyboards and type out a awww-inspiring version of those very annoying stuff they do, on your precious blog!
