Balle Balle Punjab for the First Time

I had the opportunity to go to Amritsar on 19th for a research. Meeting consumers.

Apart from that, I  also did the all important task of visiting the Golden Temple and Jalianwallah Bagh

I regret missing the Wagah Border shebang though.

Some pictures of the impressive place...

 Langar
 A humbling experience...

Dekha Dekhi

Ojas- Mamma you bought a broom for yourself, so now you should buy something for me also.

Tejas - mamma if I join cricket on Saturday and Sunday when will I get free time?

Donut- on seeing a pretty painting on the wall...who is this.
Me- mausi
Donut- ok (to satisfy my ego)
Then proceeds to ask Nani. This is not Mausi, who is it?

Upon seeing a disposable glove thrown on the ground...the glove is showing middle finger
(they know it is something bad though they don't know what. I am dreading the day they start asking more questions)

When the cranky neighbor didn't return the ball that fell in her garden
Ojas- you are a robber.
She- who taught you to say such things
Ojas- my Dadda taught me to say this...

(because when dadda saw he had picked up a tag yet again from a shop and it beeped at the exit point, he told him that if you do this people will call you a robber)

Me- if you do this again I will (enter appropriate threat) you.

Ojas- how? (will you carry out the threat)

Tejas- mamma tell me the iPad password. I will not use afterwards, only now.

PTM Meeting

Looks like I am the only mom cribbing about the children's progress.

I am worried about the fact that the kids do not seem to be reading perfectly well in Hindi

I am worried that 3 digit subtraction was not given much focus while the school insists they had done it.

The coordinator assures that the new Hindi teacher will make things better.

While the report is good I have this vague sense that perhaps I am not focusing enough on their studies.

Perhaps homework is not comprehensive enough for parents to understand how much the school is doing.

So I need to make them read more, practice more sums and focus on hand writing.

Still trying.

All Rounder

The fight was on.
The kids all wanted to bat and no one wanted to ball.
I said, how will you become Dhoni if you don't do batting, bowling everything.

Mamma, Dhoni does not ball, he bats and does wicket keeping

On World Fragrance Day

Here is my top recent favourites after rejoining the dark side post the escape four six years ago. My last update on this topic was 6 years ago.

Elie Saab- very unique, floral with accents of green, almost like a betel leaf, first perfume from this designer. Mark my words, this one is a winner

Narcisso Rodridges For her...very chic, flowery, powdery.

Be Delicious for women- crisp, fresh apple, floral, very diffusive.

Body Burberry- sweet, floral, vanillic, Powdery, musky.

Issey Miyake- very fresh, lily, marine, sharp. I have developed a taste for very marine, sea breeze fragrances, an extension of my liking for lily  (or muguet as we call it in our industry) fragrances.

Kouros for men- evocative of leather, tobacco, woods...I would gladly wear it myself.

Politeness

Ojas- I don't want to go to school tomorrow.

Tejas advices- ask her properly without crying and she may give you leave.
